PARKHURST SEARCH LINKS TO IRA
Hampshire Constabulary have uncovered a cache of weapons while conducting a search of Parkhurst Forest, Newport on the Isle of Wight.
Following a tip off from a passing dog walker, detectives have recovered two guns, ammunition and two homemade incendiary devices from an area near to the Noke Common entrance to the forest.
Although originally tight-lipped about the discovery, Police have now issued a statement confirming that they are investigating links between the haul and Irish terrorism involving the IRA.
The items were found by a dog walker on Friday 24th August.
